Our client is a prominent UK distributor of swimming pool and leisure related products. Part of one of the largest worldwide manufacturers and distributors of water related products, and they now have a vacancy in their small projects team.

Job Description

As the Project Engineer you will work with the Technical Director and Business Development Manager to deliver key strategic swimming pool related projects across all project management activities, including planning, reporting, resourcing, installing and budgeting.

This is a predominately Hampshire based role, with regular travel to sites throughout the UK, (some overnight stays will be required dependant on location of specific projects). You will also work on projects for their sister company based in Oxfordshire.

Main Duties

- Manage the planning, development and installation of pool and wellness projects including demountable panel pools, stainless steel pools, swimming pool enclosures, fountains, associated water treatment and filtration packages and other associated wet leisure wellness installation projects.

- Liaise with client representatives to agree project design and programme.

- Analysis, interpretation, communication and amendments of key pre-contract commercial and legal conditions in preparation for securing order.

- Interpret technical drawings and co-ordinate detail with other project sub-contractors.

- Create and manage project plans with key milestones, resources requirement, risks and ensure all dependencies are identified.

- Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure effective communication.

- Measure and report project performance against budget and KPIs.

-Working with the Technical Director create and maintain technical specifications and shipping paperwork (as required).

- Organise and supervise site-based staff

- Manage the timely production of deliverables and management of risks/issues ensuring these are resolved or escalated as appropriate.

- Prepare suitable and sufficient risk assessments and method statements to satisfy main contractors and site requirements.

- Ensure Health and Safety precautions are communicated and adhered to

- Procurement of materials.

- Implementation of contractual requirements for projects on construction sites.

- Management of on-site installation and commissioning labour.

- Achieve project hand-over on time and within budget.

Practical Skills & Experience

- Background in Water Treatment and/or Swimming Pool / Mechanical / Electrical / Process Engineering

- Ability to prepare and / or interpret AutoCAD and Revit drawings

- Ability to successfully manage projects, schedules and budgets

- Ability to identify solutions to day to day site issues, and agree any corrective action needed to solve issues.

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a high level of interpersonal skills and confidence.

- Valid CSCS card essential plus desirable SMSTS certificate.
