Job Description:
Our public sector client is England’s first Sub – National Transport Body. They were formed to transform the transport system across the North of England, providing the infrastructure needed to drive economic growth.

Project Officer – Planning and Reporting, working in the Programme Management Office (PMO)

The role will support the delivery of designated projects to time, standard and budget. The post-holder will deliver/assist the management of projects or programmes of work, ensuring appropriate use of resources to deliver the required scope of work within set deadlines, whilst developing plans and managing risk, and monitoring performance to ensure agreed milestones are met.

The post-holder should support on the delivery of the intended deliverables, timelines and outcomes. Their responsibilities will include active contribution to the PMO function and organisational procedures.

What we’re looking for:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, possess an equivalent professional qualification or have equivalent role-based experience.

You will have demonstrable post qualification experience in multi-stakeholder projects using Prince 2 methodology (or recognised equivalent).

Proven experience of successful partnership working with a range of third parties as well as maintaining good communication and building/managing relationships with stakeholders is key.

The PMO Project Officer should have experience of contributing to the successful management of a Programme Management Office. The post-holder would be skilled in using industry standard project and programme management tools, such as Microsoft Project. Experience of the P6 Planning Tool would be an advantage.

Knowledge and experience in the transport industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
