Job Description:

An experienced Banking Operations and IT Transformation Project Manager is required by our London based banking client for a 6-month contract.



Our client is a UK regulated and wholesale bank that is diversifying its trade finance activities and focussing on Invoice discounting, supply chain finance, and wholesale lending opportunities. This is in addition to the existing platform of Trade Services & Finance, Risk Participation and Treasury Operations with a clear client service focus.


This role will require solid project management skills, with experience working across multiple projects and workstreams. An understanding of the banking environment is essential to be able to engage across a variety of projects from IT Transformation/Implementation, office relocation and banking operations: retail banking, BCP, cash deposit, invoicing, vendor selection, governance and risk management, process improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will also work closely with the Head of IT and SME’s to deliver the major IT implementation project. This role has no line management responsibility. The client does not have a structured project methodology but works in an agile way.


This is not a technical role, but you must have experience of IT transformations/ implementations as this is one of the main projects.


Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience working across multiple projects and workstreams at different stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Previous experience within a banking/financial services organisation including operations.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering full lifecycle IT transformation and implementation projects.
  • Very strong background with project governance and risk management.
  • Change management expertise – must be able to motivate internal staff and team members through major change.
  • A formal PPM qualification or certification.
  • Highly analytical.
  • Highly motivated, energetic and driven.
  • Innovative thinker who can think outside the box.
  • Problem solver.
