Job Description:
Our large national charity client is now looking for a Project Manager to work with them on a 12-18 months FTC to help them deliver a retail-based project.

Overall purpose of the role:

To work closely with the Director of Retail and the retail team, within the PMO structure, to project manage the delivery of a replacement contract for the supply of Hot Drinks Machines, Maintenance, Raw Materials and Consumables for our client’s sites across Great Britain. To support the subsequent operational roll-out process of equipment to all of their café and restaurant sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to map requirements and milestones to create the project plan and all project documentation for the renewal of the Hot Drinks contract
  • Liaise with key managers in the formation of the project team, establish and manage the project procedures and controls
  • Budget management and financial control to ensure projects are delivered within budget
  • Effectively analyse and manage risks, issues and dependencies and develop mitigations to off-set.
  • Regular progress reporting to the Project Board and other senior stakeholders
  • Management of all other project communications and reporting
  • Create and manage the implementation plan
  • Relationship management internally and externally to ensure best delivery of projects

Decision-making:

•The role will be guided by the Director of Retail and the retail plan 

•The project plan and governance structure will identify the decision gateways and regular reporting to the Project Board will highlight any deviations from the plan that require substantive change

Analysis and initiative:

•Responsible for identification and assessment of risk, issues and dependencies in respects of project delivery, and the development of mitigations

Planning and delivery:

•Responsible for the development and delivery of the project plan and support for implementation

•Delivery of all project milestones on time and within budget

Working relationships:

•Matrix working across the directorates as necessary to deliver the different elements of the project plan

•Relationship management internally and externally with key stakeholders

•Ability to exchange information with ease, write reports and influence a range of stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally

Supporting and enabling others:

•No line management responsibility but mentoring, motivation and supervision of project team

•Support of frontline staff and volunteers to action the implementation of the project at site level

Knowledge and expertise:

•Extensive understanding of project and programme management principles, methods and techniques

•Extensive experience in working with Prince and/or MSP

•Ability to create project management documentation and reports

•Solid track record of successful project delivery within time, budget, quality, scope, risk and benefit constraints

•Results focused with ability to set high work standards for self and demonstrate drive to meet objectives

•Ability to influence and motivate managers and staff across the business and external suppliers to ensure project milestones and objectives are met

•Experience of successful business change management

•Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills

•High levels of the following additional key competencies: time management, people management, problem solving, attention to detail, negotiation, conflict management

•This role involves working on a national contract and will require some travel and occasional overnight stays

This role is Cardiff based with UK travel. Initially the role is for 12 -18 months but could go on longer
