Job Description:

A Change and Benefits Manager is required by our major infrastructure client for a permanent role based in London.

 

In this role you will lead on managing digital transformation change across the business and supply chain to ensure successful implementation of the Digital Engineering strategy including; people side of change, understanding the impacts of required changes, embedding new ways of working and defining and managing the benefits to be realised by the business through benefits realisation framework and reporting against efficiency challenges and industry benchmarks.

 

Working within the Digital Engineering team you will report into the Strategy Manager and work across a matrix environment to understand, deliver and embed digital change across the organisation.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead on the identification, definition and tracking of the benefits and outcomes to be delivered by the Digital Engineering programm
  • Manage the Benefits Realisation Framework through continuous monitoring, baselining and reporting on identified KPIs, in conjunction with the supply chain
  • Maintain the linkage between Digital Engineering capabilities and associated benefits and demonstrate the capabilities have unlocked cost savings
  • Work with the Digital Programme Manager to identify the to-be business requirements to deliver the outcomes and benefits, providing input to the programme and product delivery plan
  • Lead on the identification, definition and preparation of affected internal and external stakeholders 
  • Work with the Digital Engineering team and wider business to assess gaps between current and to be capabilities within the internal organisation and Supply Chain 
  • Work with the Digital Engineering Implementation Manager to ensure that the programme delivers the required capabilities necessary to achieve the required outcomes, meet end user needs and deliver benefits 
  • Lead on the readiness and impact of transitioning to new ways of working both within the internal organisation and its Supply Chain, working with the Information and Implementation Managers to develop, maintain and deliver a robust change and engagement strategy and plan
  • Actively engage and support the clients change community and identified champions both internally and external Supply Chain
  • Work with the Implementation Manager to ensure that business as usual is maintained during the transition and changes can be effectively integrated into the business, sequencing the changes and managing change fatigue
  • Ensure that business improvements are maximised through successfully embedding new and improved ways of working into business as usual activity / optimising success
  • Identify and manage the transition risks and issues that will impact on delivery of the benefits
  • Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

 

Essential skills and experience:

Skills:

  • Organisational change (including approaches, tools and methodologies)
  • Stakeholder Management, with proven ability to influence change at all levels  
  • Impact Planning
  • Benefits Realisation definition and management, including relevant techniques and tools
  • Cost Benefits analysis methods, including qualitative and quantitative information

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of large scale complex digital transformation programmes – preferably in the Public Sector
  • Managing complex and disparate stakeholder groups, including contractual / commercial relationships
  • Up- to -date knowledge of Benefits Management best practice and methodologies (including: HM Treasury Green Book) – desirable
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Change Management best practice and methodologies
  • Knowledge of cultural shift and organisational readiness management
  • Change Management qualification (e.g.PROSCI- APMG)
  • Benefits management qualification – desirable

Experience:

  • Track record of delivering programme benefits in large, complex organisations with multiple and ever-changing business requirements areas 
  • Experience in influencing key stakeholders 
  • Experience of delivering large or complex public sector transformation projects, ideally having held positions in both private and public sector projects
  • Experience in leading and managing multiple strands of change together to achieve a significant shift in business improvements
  • Experience developing and using performance measures and reporting tools to drive implementation and benefits realisation
  • Experience developing change and benefits strategies, plans, procedures and guidance documentation
  • Provision of expert advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders and functions to identify opportunities, blockers and challenges to digital transformation

 

This role has a strong focus on Change Management within a digital transformation environment – benefits management is a secondary part and any knowledge and experience is highly desirable rather than essential.
