Job Description:

Our Public Sector Service Provision client requires a hybrid Project Manager/Business Analyst on a permanent basis. This role is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester with a mixture of office and remote working.


 

Our client is going through a period of change to streamline their organisation across all their business areas. They are looking to bring on an additional project professional who has experience with project management and business analysis to help deliver the required change. Reporting into the CEO, you will work closely with the Lean Manager to identify, analyse, and implement projects to make the organisation more cost effective and efficient.

This role requires excellent communication skills, strong stakeholder management/ influencing skills, combined with people and process change experience. This is a fast paced, delivery focussed organisation with a strong focus on health and safety to deliver effective service to their public sector client.

 

As a hybrid PM/Ba you will:

  • Perform requirements gathering, analysis and dissemination.
  • Prepare requirements documentation for business sign off.
  • Prepare Project brief, PID and plan, and, if necessary, exception Plans.
  • Ensure project objectives are understood and met, ensuring that the Project Team members understand the requirements.
  • Plan and monitor the project through to successful delivery and outputs.
  • Managing and controlling project costs within estimates and agreed budget.
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Establish and communicate project management procedures to the team for issue resolution, scope control and progress reporting.
  • Negotiation and resolution of project risks and issues.
  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.
  • Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  • Co-ordinate communication as agreed in the Communication Plan.
  • Provide status reports to the Project Sponsor.
  • Submit regular Checkpoint Reports indicating any deviations from plan at either stage or project level and any corrective action taken.
  • Control and maintain project quality.

 

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience.
  • Demonstrable change management experience including people and process change.
  • Lean experience – beneficial.
  • Public experience – in particular with service provision to sector Local Government/Council.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Highly organised.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skill – must be approachable and open.

 

Target start date – January 2021.
