Job Description:

An IT Project Manager is required by our charity client for an initial 6-month Fixed Term role based in London. This role is initially remote working with a transition to office based when able.

Our charity client has identified multiple projects within their IT portfolio that require additional support from an experienced Project Manager to deliver. These projects are:

  • Website rebuild – requirement gathering, design and delivery.
  • Intranet upgrade, IT infrastructure project or similar – TBC mid-February.

The Website Upgrade project is a full rebuild of the client website, as part of a Drupal CMS upgrade from version 7 to 9. Core new features to implement include new donation forms and payment options such as PayPal, along with a content migration and full website redesign.

It is estimated that the initial FTC period will be a combination of the website requirement gathering and design stage, and additional support to the secondary project. Potential extension available (mid 2022).

Reporting to the IT Portfolio Manager and reporting into the project board (consisting of 3 x senior leadership), you will operate within a matrix environment internally and with an existing external supplier.

This is a highly visible, high impact role working with stakeholders across the organisation and responsible to the senior leadership team. Excellent soft skills are required to influence and persuade matrix resources to work collaboratively and ensure a successful delivery.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience delivering IT projects – a combination of website, software and infrastructure projects is essential.
  • A strong technical understanding of project fundamentals including planning, scheduling, reporting, documentation, risk management, change management etc.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong stakeholder management across all levels of an organisation.
  • External supplier management experience.
  • PRINCE2 practitioner level qualification - essential (client methodology)
  • Agile experience.
  • Experience of DRUPAL (content management system) – desirable.
  • Ability to take responsibility for delivery.
  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively.
  • Matrix working experience – influencing and persuasion skills.

This is a welcoming, positive and inclusive environment – this would suit candidates with strong interpersonal skills. A strong-arm approach is not suitable for this role.

Applications are open – closing date: Thursday 21st January.
