Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our ecommerce technology client on a permanent basis. This role would suit someone who is driven, confident and looking to take the next step in their career.



Our client delivers an ecommerce returns service for major multi brand global retail organisations. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to oversee enterprise client integration and onboarding projects from pre-contract through to handover and BAU. Client engagement and communication is vitally important to build confidence and ensure maximum engagement across all brands.


You will engage with clients to understand their service requirement and develop plans to meet these. Working with multifunctional (offshore dev, sales, product and logistics) resources, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery/integration, go live and transition to BAU processes are successful.

You will need to get up to speed quickly and have a strong technical understanding to be able to effectively act as the bridge between the technical and non-technical teams (internal and external).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Quickly gain a deep knowledge of, and be able to communicate, the capabilities of the client returns solution.
  • Manage enterprise client onboarding projects throughout entire process from requirements capture to handover to BAU, within agreed scope, budget, and time constraints
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans to meet customer requirements and company goals
  • Coordinate with clients, Sales, Logistics, Product Management, R&D and Operations functions to deliver onboarding projects
  • Lead multi-functional teams
  • Manage client and internal stakeholder expectations
  • Monitor project progress continuously and provide detailed updates and forecasts on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables
  • Communicate proactively to provide encouragement, identify risks and issues, and create solutions
  • Provide cost benefit analysis and return-on-investment metrics to assist decision making
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news
  • Provide project management expertise for other business initiatives as necessary


Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable full lifecycle project management experience within a technical client facing role – ideally within a retail technology/IT environment.
  • Demonstrable experience within IT, including development work and interactions with customers.
  • Demonstrable technical understanding of API and System Integration – including documentation.
  • Demonstrable client facing experience – ability to build confidence and demonstrate competence to enterprise clients.
  • An aptitude for understanding technical solutions and communicating to technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • An excellent communicator – verbal and written.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Product management – desirable.
  • Experience of waterfall and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Previous experience or understanding of the logistics environment.


This role is remote working with some travel involved when required (client sites).
