Project Development Manager – Network Rail

Network Rail – York – In-scope IR35: £390 per day (Umbrella) – Security: Basic Disclosure – Contract length: 12-months


Network Rail require a project development manager to work on Northerm Programmes. This comprises of four discreet programmes of work under a single leadership team – they are:

  • North West Electrification
  • Enhancements
  • Transpenine Route Upgrade
  • Ordsall Chord


You will work on the rail enhancement programme and will include developing the programmes procurement planning, common safety method, system engineering, consenting, programme strategy document preparation, coordination of technical specialists to produce management plan documents and extensive stakeholder engagement across government (local authorities, transport agencies etc) and non-government (suppliers, other involved parties) organisations.


Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable project or programme development experience within a transportation environment – ideally rail (Network Rail – highly desirable).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience – including engagement with local authorities, government departments or transport agencies.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong project/programme planning skills – including the coordination of technical resources.


This is not a site based construction position, it is a programme development role.
