Job Description:

A Project and Tender Coordinator is required by our radiation detection equipment client on a permanent basis. This role is office based in West Sussex with some travel when required.


Our client specialises in the development and delivery of radiation equipment for the Nuclear, Security, Defence, Medical, Industrial and Research sectors. They have seen continued growth and now require a specialist project management resource to join the business to focus on tender, bid and contract management activities.

Reporting to the relevant Sales Directors (Nuclear/Defence and Medical), you will work closely with the sales team throughout the bid/tender process. If successful, you will then drive the delivery of the contract through to completion. This will involve engagement across the wider operations and productions teams.

You will also assist with sourcing, applying for, submitting, implementing, and managing tenders and the resulting contract projects across the wider group of companies.

It is essential that the relevant candidate has some knowledge of scientific/technical subjects to be able to effectively work within the bid/tender process. 


Key tasks:

Project management

  • You will manage all aspects of the bid process coordinating with internal departments and collating their input to create client specific bid submissions which are coherent, compelling and well-structured
  • Guide, advise and update colleagues on best processes and practices
  • Review the evaluation criteria for each tender submission and ensure requirements are fulfilled 
  • Carrying out final document reviews
  • Keeping stakeholders updated on progress and ensuring the timely submission of tenders and other proposals


  • Drafting tender documentation
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content to fit with specific questions and bespoke to individual client requirements.
  • As part of your role, you will develop high-quality re-usable content and responses

Ensure compliance

  • Providing advice and guidance on tendering procedures and compliance
  • Ensuring adherence to statutory requirements 
  • Review legal and commercial content of the tender documents and advise accordingly


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience delivering to agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Demonstrable bid/tender experience – full lifecycle submission to delivery.
  • Contract/commercial experience – an understanding of NEC3/4
  • Experience within a nuclear, defence, CBRE environment – ideal.
  • Degree education or equivalent experience within a relevant technical/scientific subject area.
  • Highly organised.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creation and submission of technical documentation.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • A fast learner, willing to get stuck in.
  • Some legal experience of contract management would be highly beneficial.


UK Security Clearance – due to the nature of the environment, the ideal candidate would hold active SC level security clearance.


Our client is a small, family owned organisation – there may be times when you will be required to work across other organisations within the larger group of companies. Some travel may be required at these times.
