Job Description:

Our Fintech (digital banking) client requires a project manager/product owner on a permanent basis. This role is based in London.




Our client is a challenger bank who specialise in cross-border payments, utilising local payment functions for high value import and export transactions, dividend distributions, finance and treasury options. They are a rapidly growing Fintech start up and currently have offices in the UK, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Dubai and Latvia. They typically work with clients valued between £1m-£50m.



A project manager/product owner is required to lead the creation, development, integration and delivery of payment related projects and products.

Reporting into the CEO/CTO, you will work closely with internal IT, compliance/regulatory and development teams. This is a key role within the organisation and will form the first part of the new product department. You will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of technical and business projects and products, as such a strong technical understanding is required.


This role has the potential for the right candidate to develop into a Head of Project Management/Product Management position.


This a high energy start-up/technology accelerator environment and as such they are looking for candidates who fit in with this culture and way of working. Experience in a similar environment is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical and business product creation, development and delivery/integration activities.
  • Managing the technical launch of the card programme with both issuers, processors and/or a programme manager Input into and support the product proposition for launch and ongoing development
  • Management of ongoing supplier relationships
  • Assisting in ensuring chargebacks and other issues are handled smoothly
  • Working with finance to ensure a smooth reconciliation process for all parties
  • Working closely with client technical and product teams.
  • Working closely with compliance teams.
  • Ensuring a smooth customer experience from onboarding and compliance through to ongoing UX.


Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience within a highly regulated financial services/payments/banking environment.
  • A strong technical understanding of financial services/payment related projects/products and technology e.g. API integration, system integration, E-wallet management etc.
  • Previous experience launching/running (ideally prepaid) card programmes either in a processor, issuer, or brand organisation – beneficial
  • An understanding of regulatory and compliance within a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing external supplier relationships.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills both internal and external.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly collaborative attitude, but able to take accountability for the delivery of the project.
  • Self-motivated, driven, hands on and willing to get stuck in.
