Job Description:

A Senior Project Controls Manager is required by our major infrastructure client for a permanent role based in London.



Our client is delivering a major infrastructure project which includes the design and construction of a major transport hub within central London. This role will work within the Project Controls function to lead the engagement with the main contractor in the design and delivery of the infrastructure works.

Reporting to the Head of Project Controls, you will lead a matrix team of resources across all core fundamental project controls functions (scheduling, cost, risk and change). This will include working closely with the main contractor in an NEC contract setting. This is a complex project environment and requires senior stakeholder management skills and experience to effectively navigate and influence director level stakeholders, both internally and externally.


This is a senior resource, previous experience leading project controls functions on large (£500m+), complex infrastructure projects or work packages is required - examples of similar environments include Crossrail, Hinkley Point, Thames Tideway etc.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering project controls activities across large, infrastructure projects/programmes within rail, highways, airport, nuclear etc (£500m+).
  • Demonstrable experience of Project Controls disciplines, including Schedule Management, Cost Management, Change Management and Risk Management – experience across all functions is required.
  • An understanding and experience of NEC contract management.
  • Demonstrable experience engaging senior stakeholders across large, complex organisations (director, head of etc).
  • Experience working in a matrix environment – strong communication and influencing skills.
  • A strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience working in an internal client facing role or consultancy role.
  • A technical understanding, qualification or background in engineering.
  • Commercial awareness and experience working in a commercially driven environment.
  • Experience assessing, developing and embedding best practice project controls and continuous improvement activities.
  • Accountability and ownership.
