Job Description:

A Senior Project Manager is required by our Software Development and Delivery client on a 3-month contract basis. This role is a combination of remote, office (Bristol) and site working.

 

 

This role is out of scope of IR35 (small business exemption).

 

 

Our client has developed a software to assist large clients (consultancies, high street banks, utilities) in the collection and management of debt. This software is highly customisable to meet most client requirements, but they also offer bespoke development options.

They have an immediate requirement for a Senior Project Manager to join their organisation and lead software delivery projects to large, often demanding clients. This role requires gravitas, resilience and someone who is comfortable in pressured situations while client facing, but able to work closely with and guide internal teams. Extensive demonstrable agile experience and a strong technical understanding of software development and delivery is required.

 

Key tasks:

  • manage stakeholders at all levels, both internally and within client organisations
  • lead the agile development activities
  • confidently manage projects for large organisations e.g. banks, utilities, consultancies
  • work with prospects during pre-sales to define the most appropriate delivery approach
  • shape the end to end delivery process
  • provide high level plans and estimates for delivery efforts to support proposals
  • tailor a governance structure to suit the project and the client
  • agree and communicate key milestones, risks and dependencies
  • lead project teams day to day, supporting successful delivery
  • Work hand in hand with the devops team to prioritise and schedule

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable full lifecycle project management experience within a software delivery environment – highly desirable to have successfully delivered complex projects into large enterprises.
  • Demonstrable experience of structured agile eg SCRUM, Kanban.
  • A technical understanding of software development lifecycle and delivery.
  • Demonstrable senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience across technical and business teams from CxO to developers.
  • Excellent communication skills – a direct communicator with strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Highly organised – but not a rigid process driven approach.
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment with uncertainty.
  • Hands on, able to hit the ground running.
  • A formal PPM qualification: PRINCE2, APM, Agile etc.
  • Understanding of debt management
  • Financial services and/or utilities operational awareness
  • Commercial awareness
  • An understanding of ISO 27001 - beneficial

 

A strong agile background is preferred alongside excellent client facing, senior stakeholder management skills.
