Job Description:

Our cultural client has a requirement for a project manager with experience of building services, construction, engineering, and technology projects to join them on a 12-month fixed term position based in London.




Our client is a large art and performance centre that is made up of 7 properties hosting art displays, theatre and dance performances, classical and contemporary music performances, cinema and more.



They require an experienced project manager to join their small project management team to help deliver a wide variety of building services, construction, engineering, or technology projects across the estate. Projects vary from £50k to £250k. In this role you will manage the full lifecycle delivery of up to 15 projects at any one time, from scoping and tendering, to delivery and hand over.


Key experience for this role includes:

  • A broad project management experience delivering building, construction and engineering technology projects.
  • A strong grasp of full lifecycle contract and commercial management including scoping, tendering, bids etc.
  • Strong supplier management and external consultant engagement experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across


You will engage with cross departmental stakeholders (internal clients) and external suppliers/consultants. This is a busy role delivering projects in an operational environment, juggling conflicting priorities and often delivering in small time slots.

This is a 12-month fixed term role, dependent on performance and client funding cycle outcomes, there is a potential for this role to extend.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable project management experience delivering building, construction, engineering technology projects.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrable commercial and contract management experience including full lifecycle from scoping and tendering, to delivery and hand over.
  • Previous supplier/consultant management experience.
  • A current understanding of Health and Safety legislation – IOSH / NEBOSH desirable.
  • Excellent budget management and reporting skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including working with internal clients in niche environments.
  • A proficient user of Microsoft Office software including using MS Project and/or MS Access.
  • An excellent communicator including verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience delivering projects in a ‘live’/operational environment, ensuring minimal disruption to core services.
  • Highly organised.
  • Highly collaborative but able to work under own initiative and hit the ground running.
  • Experience of public sector procurement – desirable.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a technical/building related subject (architecture, surveying, engineering, construction etc)
  • A professional qualification in architecture, construction, or engineering.


As this is an art and performance environment, previous experience engaging similar stakeholders or delivering within a similar environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
