Job Description:
Experience Project Manager required for an 6 month Fixed Term assignment with my client who operates in the food production sector, to provide maternity cover during an exciting growth period for the business.
 
Reporting to the Head of Projects you will join a team tasked with delivering innovation and change to the business. Specifically, you will take on the position of main interface with the subcontractor delivering a multi-million-pound construction project as well as other smaller capital expenditure projects associated with the commissioning of this new manufacturing facility.
 
As a project manager you will have demonstrable experience of full lifecycle management; taking ideas through to successful conclusions whilst managing risks and issues and reporting both progress and financial status back through the business. As well as building business cases you will have experience of delivering procurement processes to select the most appropriate suppliers and then ensuring that successful delivery is achieved. At all times you will be working with key stakeholders and SME’s within the business acting as the conduit between them and the subcontractors/suppliers.
 
Individual responsibilities include:
  • Leading the planning and/or implementation of key business change projects
  • Use and develop the established project management process
  • Facilitating the definition of project scope and user requirements
  • Work cross-functionally to solve project issues and implement changes
  • Assembling the project team and ensuring effective ways of working between all team members
  • Running fair supplier selection tender processes which establish subtle differences between a group of external suppliers
  • Writing business cases and developing financial models that set expectations and are relied upon at board level
  • Creating and managing complicated budgets and reporting on project performance
  • Creating and managing project plans and reporting on project performance
  • Continually managing project risks through identification, assessment, planning and implementation process
  • Developing a in depth understanding of company culture, its operation and the individuals to generate new ideas and find solutions to challenges both project and business related
  • Evaluating all projects at closure, capturing and applying lessons to future work
  • Take steps to continually develop knowledge in new areas relating to the specific project (e.g. IT, construction, engineering)
  • Take personal accountability to deliver results that fully meet key users’ requirements
