Job Description:

A PMO Manager is required by our FMCG client for a permanent role based in Folkestone, Kent. This role includes travel within the UK and Europe.



Our client is an FMCG organisation who specialise in household consumer and personal care products. They are the European arm of a global organisation.



Working across the UK and Europe, you will lead the European R+D Project Management Office, engaging with New Product Development, Operational, Regulatory, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain, Purchasing and Quality departments to deliver business and departmental specific projects.


Reporting to the European R+D Director, you will ensure that the PMO function is using best practice processes and procedures across all departments to ensure a cohesive and standardised approach to project delivery. This will cover both European specific and global projects.


You will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of 8-9 PMO resources with additional temporary resources when required. You will need to be confident, a fast learner and have strong influencing and communication skills. Whilst reporting into, and ultimately responsible to the European R+D Director, you will need to be self-directed and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and counterparts in the US.


FMCG experience is essential.


Essential skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience leading a PMO function across a large, ideally global organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing best practice/ standardised project processes and procedures across a large organisation.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and experience within the FMCG environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of project delivery, focusing on innovation and development projects.
  • Experience managing complex, cross functional projects.
  • Change management experience.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong leadership and coaching/mentoring experience.
  • A proficient user of IT systems including MS Project.
  • Collaborative.
  • Self-directed.
  • A fast learner.
  • Adaptable, flexible and a positive, can do attitude.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • French speaking – advantageous.


This role includes travel within the UK and Europe (France and Germany).

Flexible working – 2 days site, 2 days WFH and 1 day flexible, to be agreed with line manager.


Multistage interview process – target start date September 2021.
